Awareness Month Trainings for May

May is a busy month. In addition to Problem-Solving Court Month and Opioid and Stimulant Use Disorder Awareness Month, May is also National Mental Health Awareness Month.

This year, Chief Justice Carlos G. Muñiz signed a proclamation recognizing May 2025 as Problem-Solving Court Month and Opioid and Stimulant Use Disorder Awareness Month within the State Courts System. On May 2, OSCA held a kickoff webinar that included numerous speakers with inspiring success stories from problem-solving courts around the state. A replay of this webinar is available through the Florida Courts website.

To close out the month with a focus on mental health, The Florida Bar’s Mental Health & Wellness of Florida Lawyers Committee will host a webinar on May 30, titled “Understanding PTSD and Secondary Trauma for Legal Professionals.” The webinar will be presented by Dr. Jennifer Lee, who is a clinical psychologist at the Miami VA Medical Center and also works with the Broward Veterans Court. For more information on this training and to register, visit The Florida Bar website.
